Custom Foot Orthotics
An 'orthotic' is a device that is made to restore your natural foot function. Many 'biomechanical' complaints such as heel pain, knee pain and lower back pain are caused by poor foot instability. Orthotics re-align the foot and ankle bones to their neutral position, thereby restoring natural foot alignment. In turn this helps alleviate issues in other parts of the body.
Orthotics also provide shock absorption and help to balance weight distribution which can take pressure off of sore spots like the ball of the foot, corns in between toes or bunions.
Orthotics have also helped the following conditions:
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Corns
- Metatarsalgia
- Sesamoiditis
- Plantar Fascitis
- Ankle Sprains
- Flat Feet (Pes planus)
- Neuroma
- Tendonitis
- Abnormormal gaits (foot flare or waddling gait)
- Arch Pain
- Heel Pain
- Pronation
- Top of the foot pain
- Bunions
- Knee Pain
- Shin Pain
- Toe Pain
- Elimination of posture problems
Who needs orthotics?
Anyone who experiences the following can benefit from orthotics:
- Flat feet
- Heel pain
- Knee pain
- Shin pain
- Standing or walking all day
- Pain during sports or exercising
Orthotics can reduce the pain for all these conditions. In addition, for overweight individuals, orthotics will help to counteract the extra stress being placed on the feet.
How can Adjust to Wellness help me with orthotics?
Good news, you do not need a physicians prescription to get custom orthotics made. Dr. Sarah can help you to get custom orthotics made at a fraction of the price that you would get at a podiatrists office. At our clinic we take a custom mold of your feet and then send it off to have your special orthotics made. The process usually takes about three weeks. Contact our office for more information if you are interested.
